These pictures are not of Oyster River in Thomaston ME. I was confused as to where these would be location and showed my fiance who grew up right there near the river and fished it his entire life, he was stumped as well. After some research I discovered these are photos are actually of the Oyster River near Mill Pond Dam in Durham NH. The directions and description of the river here in Maine is correct however the pics are not of this river. Great directions and suggestions, however unfortunately lately it’s nearly impossible to find trout in our streams, rivers, and lakes, let alone native ones due to heavy illegal stocking! The Bass, Pickerel, Pike etc are taking over and eating our beautiful trout population, it’s extremely sad to go to the same spots you have caught them your entire life and solely catch these invasive and illegal species.

The first map down is greatly incorrect. The Continental Divide does not go through Southy Park as depicted. Rather it goes WEST of Mount Elbert. Please correct.
