Sights and Attractions in
The old Martins Church (8th century); the former church of the German Order (1718-25) from plans of Luke von Hildebrandt); the Castle (built in the 8th century and enlarged in the 15th and 16th centuries); the Town Hall (1513 and in baroque style in 1658). The Landhaus (1564-71) with its Renaissance portico, arcaded courtyard and planet fountain and the Bishops Palace (18th century from Jacob Prandtauers). In modern Linz is the business district with its pedestrian zone, the concert hall ‘Bruckner House’ and the botanical garden with Austria’s largest Alpinarium.
