This important National Scenic Trail enters Pennsylvania from Maryland, crosses the southeastern part of the state, and exits into New Jersey. It passes through state forest, state park, and state game lands. The trail follows low mountain ridges, offering nice views and scenery along the way. Elevations rarely exceed 2,000 feet, and are generally under 1,600 feet. Difficulty is mostly easy to moderate, but the footing is often extremely rocky. Camping Regulations: A number of shelters and established campsites are located along the trail. Campfires are allowed at these sites
