It opened in 1991 to host major musical acts, and has stadium seats and general admission lawn seating. The amphitheater got its 15 minutes of fame when Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran took the stage in 2005 and referred to the city as Charlotte, Virginia. The Annapolis Convention (a precursor to the Constitutional Convention the Alington Metro Map following year)
