From Sheridan, the valley broadens to accommodate the convergence of the Ruby, Beaverhead, and Big Hole rivers at Twin Bridges (pop. 381), where Lewis and Clark camped two centuries ago. Bicycle-friendly Twin Bridges, which bills itself as The Town That Cares, has a lot going on for a community with one blinking-light intersection. This is the home of the world-famous R.L.
