Devil’s Den State Park is in northwest Arkansas, surrounded by Ozark National Forest lands. Scenery includes steep bluffs with overlooks, caves, and rock formations. Activities: Hiking and backpacking are available on the 14.6-mile Butterfield Backpacking Trail. Much of this trail is in Ozark National Forest, but it starts and ends inside Devil’s Den. The park rents backpacking equipment and periodically offers workshops on backpacking. There are also 20 miles of horse trails and several miles of mountain bike trails. Canoeing is possible on an 8-acre lake and at times on Lee Creek.
