					<description><![CDATA[<p>CRATERS OF THE MOON NATIONAL MONUMENT Located in south-central Idaho, this National Monument preserves a somewhat desolate, moonlike volcanic landscape, with lava flows, craters, cinder cones, and tubes (caves). The 43,243-acre Craters of the Moon Wilderness comprises the southern part of the park. Wildlife includes mule deer, bobcat, and fox. Activities: There are about 15 miles of trails for hiking and backpacking. Most trails are short. One may walk elsewhere, but cross-country travel is very difficult on some kinds of lava.
