					<description><![CDATA[<p>Wisconsin Guide for Tourist NORTHERN HIGHLANDS-AMERICAN LEGION STATE FOREST Located in the northern part of the state, Northern HighlandsAmerican Legion is by far the largest of Wisconsin&#8217;s state forests. There are over 900 lakes here, some of which are remote, along with several rivers, numerous streams, and some swamps. Wildlife includes deer, black bear, coyote, fox, and bald eagle. Activities: The forest has more than 18 miles of trails for hiking and backpacking, including the 15-mile Lumberjack Trail, and over 30 miles of trails designated for cross-country skiing during the snow season. Snowshoeing is another winter option. Canoeing is available </p>
