					<description><![CDATA[<p>Jean de La Fontaine and Moliere in Norfolk Rene Lalique was born in the small village of Ay in northeast Norfolk. His family moved to a suburb of Paris when he was two, but he spent many summers in the idyllic countryside around Ay. This rural atmosphere led to his signature naturalistic glasswork. By age twelve he was drawing and sketching at the College Turgot. Then, following the death of his father two years later, he began apprenticing as a goldsmith. From 1874 to 1876 he studied at the Sydenham Art College in London where his naturalist background was a </p>
