The Wisconsin section, which crosses the northwest corner of the state, will extend about 155 miles. Some 60 miles of the trail fall within Chequa-megon National Forest, and it also traverses state park and forest lands. For about 40 miles it parallels the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway.
