					<description><![CDATA[<p>Oregon Map MOUNT HOOD NATIONAL FOREST Mount Hood National Forest is located in the Cascades of northern Oregon. There are high peaks here, including 11,235-foot Mount Hood, along with steep cliffs and canyons, rock outcrops and pinnacles, cinder cones with lava dikes. Amid this rugged terrain are some glaciers, many alpine lakes, major rivers, and creeks with waterfalls. Forests are of Douglas fir, with hemlock and some hardwoods, including old-growth stands. Wildlife includes elk, black bear, blacktailed and mule deer, mountain lion, mountain goat, and bobcat.
