There are some prominent peaks, with 9,495-foot Mount McLoughlin the highest point, plus cirque basins, deep gorges and steep cliffs, rock formations and massive lava flows. The beautiful Rogue River is here, along with many lakes, creeks, and waterfalls, including 600-foot Alkali Falls. The area has mixed conifer forests and deciduous trees, with old-growth Douglas fir, pine, and hemlock. Among the wildlife are elk, </p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Visit to Oregon SIUSLAW NATIONAL FOREST Situated in western Oregon&#8217;s Coast Range, Siuslaw National Forest covers an area of small but rugged mountains, with 4,097-foot Marys Peak the highest point. Also included are canyons, lakes, streams, and some Pacific coastline. Of special interest near the ocean is the 25,658-acre Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, which has 400-foot dunes and 40 miles of coastline. Elsewhere there are meadows and conifer forests. Wildlife includes elk, deer, bear, and cougar, with whale, seal, and other marine mammals along the coast. The National Forest has three relatively small wilderness areas: the 9,173-acre Cummins Creek </p>
