There are rugged peaks, granite domes, rock formations, deep canyons, foothills, and areas of desert here, along with some lakes, rivers, and creeks with waterfalls. Of special interest are the many giant sequoias, which stand as high as 270 feet, with diameters which occasionally exceed 30 feet.
