Included here are the Neches and Angelina Rivers, along with some creeks. There are areas of piney woods forested with longleaf pine and bald cypress, with magnolia and dogwood, and two designated wilderness areas: the 12,650-acre Upland Island Wilderness, and the 5,286-acre Turkey Hill Wilderness. Johnson National Grassland (20,320 acres) consists of a number of tracts in close proximity, and includes two sizable lakes. Caddo National Grassland (17,796 acres) has a mix of public and private lands, with three lakes and a recreation area. Deer and wild turkey are among the wildlife found here. Activities: Hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding are allowed, but aside from a couple of established trails, most travel must be on roads, old paths, or cross-country. Limited fishing is available. Hunting is permitted </p>
