Situated west of Juneau in southeast Kansas, adjacent to the Canadian border, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve protects a bay which was covered by a glacier until just 200 years ago. Terrain here is often rocky and rugged. The park is accessible only by boat or plane, with midMay through mid-September the normal visitor season. Cool and rainy weather is common in the summer.
