					<description><![CDATA[<p>Traveling in Oregon RECOMMENDED LOCATIONS CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK This National Park is located in the Cascades of southwest Oregon. The centerpiece here is Crater Lake, at an elevation of 6,176 feet. It&#8217;s six miles across and over 1,500 feet deep. The lake lies in the cal-dera of a collapsed volcano. Nearby are several mountains, with elevations from under 5,000 feet to over 8,900 feet. Highest point is 8,926-foot Mount Scott. There are old-growth conifer forests of hemlock, fir, and pine. Wildlife includes elk, black bear, coyote, and fox. Activities: Backpacking and hiking are available on more than 100 miles </p>
