Terrain includes some rocky peaks, canyons, and glacier-carved valleys, with a number of lakes and streams. Highest point is 7,309-foot Gypsy Peak. There&#8217;s a single designated wilderness area, the 41,350-acre SalmoPriest Wilderness. Forests are largely of mixed conifers, with Douglas fir, lodgepole pine, and old-growth ponderosa pine, plus hemlock and cedar.
