While most of this National Forest is in Idaho, a sizable unit is located in northwest Wyoming, west of Grand Teton National Park. There are two designated wilderness areas: the 116,535-acre Jedediah Smith Wilderness and the 10,820-acre Winegar Hole Wilderness. Camping is allowed throughout the National Forest, except where otherwise prohibited. Campfires are not permitted in a few areas. Campsites in wilderness areas should be at least 200 feet from lakeshores and 50 feet from streams. Permits are required for commercial groups and guides. See the Idaho
