					<description><![CDATA[<p>Pypore La Huella Fransiscana (translated as the Franciscan footprint) is a recent tourism project developed by the NGO Fundacion Tierra Nuestra to improve and increase tourism in Paraguay&#8217;s Franciscan towns. So far the project has yielded a packaged tour that combines both the religious aspect of the Fransiscan route and the artesanal traditions still maintained in Franciscan towns. The book includes interviews with artisans, a history of nanduti and an impressive catalog of dechados including many that are no longer made due to their level of difficulty. www.nandutilace.com is the accompanying website (in English and Spanish). Museo San Rafael Run by the town church parish this small museum has a nice collection of antique nanduti pieces as well as an exhibit displaying the process of making nanduti and several examples of dechados. There are displays of religious statues and colonial artifacts </p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Centro de Interpretacion Astronomica Buenaventura Suarez As part of the push for improvements to the Ruta Jesuitica (Jesuit Route) Paraguay&#8217;s tourism ministry inaugurated the Centro de Interpretacion Astronomica Buenaventura Suarez astronomy center in early 2010. The center is located in what used to be the casa de indios (indigenous dwellings) sector of the San Cosme mission (across the plaza from the church). The planetarium and observatory (equipped with an eleven inch Celestron telescope) allows visitors to place themselves in the shoes of Father Buenaventura Suarez, Jesuit priest and astronomer, observing the night skies of San Cosme y Damian.
