Combining culinary interests with walking tours, sampling tours have become a popular tourist activity in New Orleans, Seattle, and New York, among other cities. In the city where Creole cuisine – proclaimed to be the country’s only true regional cuisine – originated, New Orleans Culinary History Tours (www.noculinarytours.com) offers daily walking tours. Stops on the tour include several historic restaurants, including the two oldest in the city: Antoine’s and Tujague’s, established in 1840 and 1856, respectively. The sampling-tour concept has also caught on in Seattle. Savor Seattle Tours (www.savorseattletours.com) offers six food tours in the area, including the VIP Pike

Seattle’s beauty can be explored not only by land and sea but also by sky. Today we are taking off in a seaplane to see Seattle from above. We’re in the plane and ready for take off. This is amazing, we’re flying over Lake Union. Oh, the bridge. How about that view. It’s actually very nice to see Seattle from up top. You don’t get to see it that often and even prettier than it seems from the ground. We’re flying over the downtown core, you can see Space Needle soaring above the rest of the buildings. Puget Sound. This

A city’s past is often found in hidden places, and today, we’re gonna discover some of Seattle’s history by going underground. So, beneath the streets is a walking history tour. We cover about four blocks of Pioneer Square neighborhood, go underground three different locations, and most of them have been abandoned, so very interesting spaces to go into, and we’ll talk about how they’ve been used throughout the years. There’s some really great visuals down here. This picture shows Seattle back in 1889. This is exactly where we’re standing. Sweet. Today was really great. I mean, we’ve lived in the

Not far out of Seattle, there is so much to see and do, so today, we headed out of the city to experience Snoqualmie Falls and the wine region. Well, Washington Wine, we’re the second largest producer in the United States, and where we’re at in Woodinville, there’s approximately 110 tasting rooms. At the first winery, we’re trying five different wines, and I think number four is my favorite so far. One of the most acclaimed wineries here in this state is Chateau Ste Michelle, so of course, we have to stop here. Let’s try some wine. The wine was

The water is such an important part of Seattle, and today we’re gonna experience it firsthand on a Locks cruise. We’ve set off from the dock and the tour kicks off here on Lake Union. There’s all these different boats around us. You can look up onto the hills and see the houses and the water. I mean, it’s beautiful. We’re sailing past the floating homes, which are literally homes sitting on the water. It is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. We’re about to enter the Ballard Locks. These locks separate the salt water from the fresh water.
