Phuket, Koh Pi Pi and Khao Lak suffer much more from rain season than Koh Samui. But Phuket offers lots of non-beach activities as well. It rains almost every day in rainy season, but mostly only an hour or twice an hour and then clears up again. Best time to visit Phuket and nearby Koh Pi Pi and Kao Lak is from End of November until April. This first chapter gives you a short overview on the different options of Transportation in Thailand and how it works. There are around 50 Flights per Day from Bangkok to Phuket and versa.
