The Berklee School of Music and The New England Conservatory Two of Boston’s famous music schools present an almost daily lineup of student and faculty recitals that are free or just a few bucks. Berklee specializes in jazz and world-beat pop, while NEC has lots of classical ensembles.

Two other organizations, the BU Chorus and the BU Choral Arts Society, perform at the gothic Marsh Chapel (735 Commonwealth Avenue). The chapel also features free organ concerts on Sunday afternoons.
