DWORSHAK RESERVOIR
Located in the Bitterroot Mountains of northern Idaho and administered by the Army Corps of Engineers, Dworshak is a 19,000-acre reservoir which was created by damming up the North Fork Clearwater River.
Terrain in the region is rugged and often steep, with forests of ponderosa pine, hemlock, and western red cedar. Wildlife includes bear, bobcat, and coyote.
Activities: There are several trails on reservoir lands which may be used for hiking or backpacking. Boating is available on the reservoir, as is fishing. Hunting is permitted in season.
Camping Regulations: A large number of designated campsites are located along the shore, some of them in the numerous inlets. Camping is restricted to these sites. Many of the campsites are accessible only by boat.
