The cities of Concord, Kannapolis, and Mooresville make up NASCAR Country. The fast-paced, four-wheeled action is the main draw to the area, which also boasts several racing-themed museums. Make sure to see a NASCAR race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, tour the shops of racecar drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr., and drive along The Dale Trail.

PRESQU1LE PRESQU’ILE WINERY For generations, the Murphy family traveled from Athens Map their native Arkansas to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for holidays. The close-knit, multigenerational family Athens Map eventually purchased eighteen acres in the area, built a family home, and named it Presqu’ile (French for almost an island). The moniker was inspired by the landscape: a narrow strip of land was the property’s only connection to the mainland. Over the years, as various family members constructed additional homes, Presqu’ile grew into a multigenerational compound. In 2005 the entire estate was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina, and the Murphy family decided to embark on a new venture out west. Matt Murphy cut his teeth in the wine business working in wineries in the Napa Valley and later at highly regarded Bien Nacido Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley appellation of Santa Barbara County.
