Ever had a filet mignon lollipop? You can order one at Village Bistro. The menu has an eclectic collection of dishes with Latin, Asian, and Italian influences. Aside from the meat pops, dishes include risotto and slow-roasted prime rib. The fresh mozzarella pulled tableside is a real treat. At lunch the scene is much more casual, but the little-black-dress quotient is amped up in the evenings when it’s not uncommon to see stilettos and ties in the dining room.

The Declaration is read publicly for the first time on July 8 in Philadelphia. The United Colonies are renamed the United States by the Continental Congress.
