Throw in its convenient location so close to the Wollaston T station that you could have a beer between trains and you’ll see why it’s a local favorite.
Mondays through Thursdays, burgers, hot dogs, and personal-size pizzas are all $1 each, all day long. On weekends, these pizzas run $3-$4, and burgers $2.50. Catch a sporting event on one of five televisions, have a pint of Guinness, and order some 500 fries.
Lunch specials, served between 11 AM. and 2 PM. offer heartier fare. For $4.95, try baked macaroni and cheese with ham; fettucine Alfredo with turkey; or a Fisherman’s Platter of fried scallops and shrimp. Soups like minestrone ($ 1.25/cup, $2.50/bowl) and thick clam chowder ($2.75) are good bets, too. The decor could best be described as incongruous, but the atmosphere is generally amiable. The kitchen closes at 10:30 p.m. daily.
