Tweeter Outlet Center
874 Commonwealth Ave. Boston;(617)738-4411
At the rear of Tweeter Etc.’s branch on the Boston University campus is a big room with shelves and shelves of demos, discontinued and refurbished stereo and video equipment at savings of 20% to 70% (!) off the retail prices.
You may, for example, find a Mitsubishi 50-inch projection TV, listed at $3,800, on sale for a paltry $1,999. Denon receivers start around $300, occasionally $200. And it’s not all high-end stuff; How about a Kenwood double cassette deck, marked down from $300 to $180, or a Yamaha CD player with a five-disc carousel at $100 off.
Tweeter offers the original, full manufacturer’s warranties on all merchandise. The store is open seven days a week, including weeknights til 9 P.M.
