These megastores are not for all customers. You may not have the kind of storage area to take advantage of grocery deals by the case; there are some stores listed under General Markets in the Food Shops chapter which offer similar rates on smaller quantities without memberships.
For other kinds of merchandise, the discounts can be terrific, but the selection is often limited. Many of their televisions, computers, clothing, furniture, and even jewelry are closeouts; you can only choose from whatever deals they’ve been able to snap up from manufacturers. If you’re looking for the best price on a particular model of refrigerator, they may only have a half-dozen of last year’s leftovers. On the other hand, if you only care about the bottom line, this may suit you fine. Again, look before you leap:
