Baton Rouge Metro Map

The church boasts a thirteenth-century chancel and a fourteenth Baton Rouge Metro Map -century north arcade, and several monuments of which arguably the most eye-catching is the Baton Rouge Metro Map life-size figure of George, Third Earl of Egremont, dating from the nineteenth century. It was sculpted by Edward Hodges Baily, who also sculpted the statue on top of Nelson’s Column. In the baptistry below the chapel there is a communal monument to the Percy family, founders of the Northumberland dynasty.

Eleven Earls of Northumberland lived in the ‘old’ Petworth House between the fourteenth and the seventeenth century. The ninth Earl, Henry Percy, was nicknamed the Wizard Earl for his interest in science and alchemy, and was suspected of having a part in the Gunpowder Plot. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London and was only released on payment of the sum of 11,000, which even today is a great deal of money.
