Tribes, Tuckey St. (427 6070). Keep Bishop Lucy Park on your left and walk to the end of Oliver Plunkett St. The only late-night coffee shop in town. Sandwiches and burgers around ‚6. Open M-W noon-12:30am, Th-Sa noon-4:30am.
Amicus, 14A French Church St. (427 6455). A sophisticated decor. Artistic, delicious dishes. Meals around ‚15-20. Open M-Sa 10am-10:30pm and Su noon-9pm. Greene’s, 48 MacCurtain (455 2279), next to Hotel Isaacs. Warm colors and grand skylights make the atmosphere stunning. Meals range from steak to lamb. Entrees around ‚22. Open M-Th 6-10pm, F-Sa 6-10:30pm, Su 6-9pm.
Cafe Paradiso, 16 Lancaster Quay (427 7939). Award-winning vegetarian meals border on gourmet. Cool Mediterranean feel with a laid-back crowd. Try the watermelon, feta, and cucumber salad (‚7). Lunch ‚7-13. Dinner ‚9-18. Open Tu-Sa 12:30-3pm and 6:30-10:30pm.
SIGHTS
Cork’s sights are loosely divided into three areas: the Old City, the Shandon neighborhood, and the western part of the city, around the university. All can be reached by foot. Pick up the Cork Area City Guide at the tourist office (‚2).
