Transportation in Thailand is extremely convenient and cheap. Flying is extremely cheap and most common mode of transportation for Tourists as well as for locals. Flights to and from popular Islands like Phuket or Koh Samui are very inexpensive and plenty of flights are available throughout the day. There’s a lot of competition in the market, Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, Air Asia, Nokair and Oriental Thai (Oriental Thai is indeed not recommended by One-Two-Go.com due to a history of security Issues). So we will not cover this Airline further in this blog. All others are safe and perfectly operated by themselves or by Thai Airways (Nokair).
Most Flights between Thai cities and Islands are between 1000 and 2000 baht including taxes with Air Asia and Nokair (The low cost airline of Thai Airlines). Bangkok air and Thai Airways are slightly more expensive.
Air Asia – Where They Fly
Air Asia is a Malaysian-based low-cost airline. Air Asia is Asia’s largest low-fare airline and a pioneer of low-cost travel in Asia. Air Asia group operates scheduled domestic and international flights to over 400 destinations spanning 25 countries. Its affiliate airline Thai Air Asia has a hub in Suvarnabhumi Airport. Air Asia won the Skytrax World’s best low-cost airline award in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011. It has the world’s lowest operating costs at USD 0.035/seat-kilometer in 2010. It is also the first airline in the region to implement fully ticketless air travel.
It is currently operating from the international Don Muang Airport in Bangkok!
All flights cost usually between 1000 Baht and 2000 Baht including taxes.
Be careful while bloging on their website because they try to sell you unneeded options like luggage insurance, seat selection and so on. You have to UN-tick those options during the bloging process again and again as they are already ticked for you… No big deal if you don’t, but try to save those 200 baht for something useful like a nice meal with a beer at your destination.

Nokair is partly owned and operated by Thai Airlines. This guarantees a high safety standard. Nokair is also seen therefore unofficially as low cost airline of Thai Airlines. Since its inception, Nokair has been operating largely independently from Thai Airways International.
The name ‘Nokair’ is simply and easily to recognize by people. Meaning ‘bird’ in Thai language it symbolizes friendship and freedom to travel, or ‘fly everywhere’.
