Perhaps the only list in this blog longer than the selection of canals is the sheer number of people to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude. The more I think about it, the more it seems that the story of canal fishing embraces a huge community which spans everyone from the small boy I lent some maggots on the Monmouth and Brecon, to 81-year-old Alan Smallman on the Newport Canal. I have countless helpful tackle shops and fishing clubs to thank – and can only hope this blog supports you in some small way, as you support this great sport of ours.
