Anantara Uluwatu Bali, Indonesia
A few impressions before starting my hotel tour. Anantara Uluwatu is a 5-star cliffside resort located on Bali’s southern coast. Uluwatu is the Bukit Peninsula’s most spectacu. Here, towering limestone cliffs fringe golden sand beaches and amazing si. The resort’s main pavilion houses the lobby. The hilltop building is reached by a grand, stone staircase. The property features a breezy, contemporary design. It was developped by Indonesia’s PT Duta Cermat Mandiri architects.
Check-in is done inside the sleek looking lobby. There are several reception desks and a large seating area . The hotel is part of Anantara’s portfolio. The staircase leads to the main pool (shown later). Grassy-roofed suites and villas are set along the tiered steps. Minor employs more than 50,000 people. It houses the resort’s ocean front suites (some of them with direct pool access). The pool area offers an unhindered ocean view. In fact, the view here is one of the best offered by any hotel in the Uluwatu area. Here, you also find ‘Splash’. Splash is one of the resort’s 3 dining venues. The pool & views are the resort’s main draw, besides its reputation as a surfers’ meo. There are many monkeys in the Uluwatu area. You may encounter them on the resort’s pool deck :-). Uluwatu is world-renowned as a surfing paradise. The hot spots around the Anantara hotel boast some of the world’s greatest surf breaks. A narrow stretch of beach is located below the cliff: It can be reached by an elevator from the resort’s pool deck. For a better beach, head to Padang Padang beach. The resort provides complimentary shuttle service to Padang Padang. The resort is very popular as a wedding destination.
The property has a beautiful wedding venue known as the Dewa Dewi wedding Chapel. Getting married in Bali is very popular. You can choose between a Western style or traditional Balinese wedding. It’s one of the few resorts in Uluwatu from where you can watch the sunset. The resort faces west. Night falls. This is the perfect time for a spa treatment. The spa is located next to the main hotel building. The intimate facility is designed to reflect a traditional Balinese rice barn. The spa offers a tranquil sanctuary for wellness Treatments are performed by highly trained therapists. Yoga and tai chi classes are offered at the spa. There is also a Balinese High Priestess on hand to help with energy cleansing. All treatments start with a floral foot ritual. The treatments end with a deep toning facial massage.
