Seiji Ozawa conducts the BSO in concerts from September through May. While these are not cheap tix are $20 to $50 there are two alternatives. Rush tickets. $7 each, are set aside for concerts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8, and Friday afternoons at 2. They are sold on the day of performance at the box office only, from 5 P.M. for evening concerts and 9 A.M. for Friday matinees. There is a limited supply, one to a customer, first-come first-served. Open rehearsals are another way to hear the BSO inexpensively. There is a separate series of these, usually on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 and
Thursday mornings at 10:30. Each is preceded by a short discussion of the music to be heard, starting an hour before the rehearsal. Tickets are $12, with unreserved seating; these may be purchased in advance.
