This intersection (with the American Legion Highway) is lush with florists, no doubt because of the many cemeteries nearby. Calisi’s is sort of the no-frills shop in the bunch, with less opulent displays than its rivals but then, that means lower prices.
Fresh roses start as low as $7.50 a dozen (!) for the short-stemmed varieties; these range up to a more standard $30-$40 a dozen for a box of long-stems. The store offers a complete FTD wire service for deliveries. Lovely mixed bouquets, usually $4-$5 around town, go for a mere $2.98 here. Calisi’s also has its own small greenhouse, offering potted geraniums for $1.50 in season, and vegetable plants (peppers, eggplant, cucumbers) at $1.98 for a box.
