51 Sandy Pond Rd. Lincoln; (617) 259-8355

A bit out of the way for city folk, the DeCordova is always worth a drive from just about anywhere. The museum itself features several galleries of contemporary art, emphasizing New England artists. The real draw, however, is the adjacent sculpture park. A portion of this rolling 35-acre property is dotted with some forty works that will amuse and delight you. Some are even interactive, perfect for the kiddies to climb on, and visitors can even picnic next to their favorite piece! Museum admission is a hefty $6 ($5 for seniors, students, and children under twelve), but the park is free at all times.

The DeCordova is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.; Saturdays and Sundays from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. The sculpture park is open daylight hours. At the time of this writing, DeCordova was planning to close for six months for renovations, from October 1995 through June of 1996. The sculpture park will remain open during the construction.
