Do not be fooled by the Georgian elegance of the exterior of Fleming’s, for the interior decor of the Front Room, as well as the Cocktail and Tea Rooms, is striking and sumptuous, elegant and eccentric. Both rooms are a fabulous setting for an utterly indulgent afternoon tea. Flemings pay homage to the traditional experience with their English Afternoon Tea, but with a contemporary twist. There is an excellent choice of leaf teas, tisanes and infusions, all served from an Art Deco silver tea set. From the sandwiches upwards, fluffy scones are complemented by a dainty slice of Victoria sponge, and poised temptingly on the top of the elegant cake stand is a fantastic choice of delicate pastries, including a hand-crafted cupcake from the exclusive Primrose Bakery. If you wish, you can add a glass of Champagne.

For Martini officiandos, the Fleming’s signature Savoury Martini Afternoon Tea, either gin or vodka, with savoury scones, miniature scotch eggs and much more, should not be missed, but it does need to be requested in advance when you make your tea booking. So too must the Chocoholics Afternoon Tea, with it’s decadent chocolate scones, a selection of chocolate cakes, petit fours, rich hot chocolate or tea. For a very special party occasion, the Pink Afternoon Tea is a girly delight, with 20 per cent of the cost being donated to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.
