You don’t have to be a chocolate devotee to thoroughly enjoy the excellent menu on offer at the Hilton on Park Lane, but if you are, you will certainly be in seventh heaven.
Hilton Park Lane London Photo Gallery
Before you feast your eyes on the modern cake stand with its three courses of treats, and in a move away from the all-bread traditional finger sandwiches, you are presented with a selection of delightful open sandwiches, with vegetarian and other options available on request. You’ll need plenty of room for what follows. There are scones, plain with cream and jam, as well as chocolate chip with chocolate praline spread, and then the prettiest of iced cupcakes with squidgy centres. The piece de resistance is the top tier. Perched on an edible Valrhona chocolate plate, decorated with gold leaf, are an array of picture-perfect miniature chocolate fancies which the chef changes to suit the time of year or a particular celebration, like Easter and Mothers Day, and are too good to resist. Not forgetting the fine leaf tea from Harney and Sons, chosen from a good selection, you’ll have a personal timer to ensure the correct infusion time. The Podium Restaurant is a very comfortable, bustling place in which to enjoy tea for two or to have a tea party, and you can be sure of a wonderful experience.
