Many instruments are for sale on consignment from the original owners, meaning there may be some squiggle room on the prices. In any case (no pun intended), you’re sure to get a good deal. Great prices on strings, too; these, of course, are not used. Open 11 a.m. to 7 PM. Mondays through Fridays; 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. Saturdays; noon to 5 P.M. Sundays.

Mr. Music has a huge selection of used guitars and basses, primarily Fenders and Gibsons. Japanese-made Fender Stratocasters can be found for as low as $199, and range up to around $650. A Strat Squire of black maple was seen for $179.
Used and new amps start around $79 and up.
Their prices on new instruments are pretty good too, and may get even better if you’re good at haggling a bit. The sales staff here can be alternately brusque or helpful, so be thick-skinned about it. Used guitars are warrantied for 90 days; If we can’t fix it, we’ll give you another one. A staff of repair technicians works on the premises. The store also buys used instruments; they sell drum stuff too, as well as strings, accessories, CDs, and tapes. Open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 7 P.M. Saturdays til 6.
