From the giant mechanical iguana who greets you (Enjoy our cantina…) as you enter, this place is wacky and fun. Mexican food is the specialty at this suburban pair, with creative, modem touches. Start with a cup ofTortilla Soup ($1.50), of chicken broth, vegetables, and crushed chips. Then try the New Mexican Rice Casserole” ($7.95), made with andouille sausage, shrimp, chicken, veggies, cheeses, avocado. . .sort of a paella from this side of the Atlantic.
Of course, they also have tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas; in fact, you can mix and match any two (with rice and beans) for $6.50, or any three for $8.50. Great fajitas, too, as well as Tex-Mex burgers and sandwiches. Beers include Corona, Harpoon, and other fine brews. Both branches offer weekly specials, like all-you-can-eat wings for $4.50, or a happy-hour taco bar for $2 a person. The place also attracts families, with Kids Nite discounts on Tuesdays and Sundays. Both places are open daily for lunch and dinner.
