The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is the primary venue for Native American art and culture in Indiana. It also is the only museum in the Midwest to offer extensive collections of both Xative American and American Western art. The museum holds paintings, drawings and sculpture of and from the American West, from the early 19th century to the present.

The highlight of the collection is works by members of the Taos Society of Artists including Joseph Henry Sharp, E.I. Couse, Ernest Blumenschein, and Victor Higgins. The Native American Collection, totaling approximately 3,400 objects, presents the art of cultural groups from coast to coast and includes pottery, basketry, w’oodcarvings, beadwork, and apparel. The Museum presents a biennial exhibition of contemporary artwork of the West and Native Americans; conducts hands-on workshops and other educational programming related to exhibitions; and hosts an annual festival, the Indian Market, ,n June, the Midwests largest juried sale and show of Xative American art.
