Central Bank and Trust Company

The Central Bank and Trust Company presents temporary exhibitions of work by contemporary Kentucky arti.-ts in two corridors converted to galleries on the second and third floors. The Banks permanent collection consists primarily of works in a variety of media by Kentucky artists.

A component of the Otis A. Singletary Center for the Arts, the University of Kentucky Art Museum presents selections from its permanent collection, supplemented by an annual schedule of diverse exhibitions drawn from other museums, private collections, and exhibition services. The Museum also regularly assembles exhibitions of special regional interest and relevance, including retrospectives of work b> contemporary Kentucky artists, as well as showings of outstanding local collections. Illustrated catalogues are frequently published to accompany these exhibitions. The Museum maintains a permanent collection of more than 3,500 European and American paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, and examples of decorative arts. There are also holdings in the art of the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Selections from the permanent collection are always on view and rotated regularly; works in storage are easily accessible by appointment. Also of possible interest are the Center for Contemporary Art. presenting MFA student thesis work and guest invitational exhibitions and the Downtown Gallery, a downtown Lexington exhibition space featuring the work of students, faculty, alumni, and guest artists.
