15 Boston Fish Pier, Boston; (617) 423-2705 To legions of seafood fans, nothing says fresh-from-the-sea like the No Name. Located smack-dab in the center of Boston’s Fish Pier, off the waterfront’s Northern Avenue, this restaurant is tucked in among several seafood wholesalers and loading docks as it has been since 1917.
The place is as no-frills in appearance and style as it is unnamed. But the kitchen rolls out a wealth of broiled and fried selections ranging from schrod and sole (both $7.95) to scallops and a seafood plate (good portions for a reasonable $9.95 each).
Daily specials, when Mine docked, included boiled lobster with a side order of fried shrimp and scallops all for $15.95, and a broiled shrimp sautg for $9.95. It’s tough to skip the seafood chowder, only $1.35 a cup and $2.75 for a brimming bowl. Homemade pies, as if you’ll have room, vary daily and are just $1.75 a slice. No wonder this is a popular stop on the tour bus circuit; this is Boston. The No Name is open from 11 A.M. to 10 P.M. seven days a week.
