Poused in an architecturally interesting post-modern building, Herrett Center collections are primarily focused on anthropology. Four galleries are dedicated to pre-Columbian America including an ancient art gallery featuring textiles. Additionally, the Jean B. King Gallery of Art, co-sponsored by the College of Southern Idaho Art Department and Associated Students of CSI, presents monthly exhibitions of contemporary art, including works by faculty and an annual juried student show.

The number in parentheses following the city name indicates the number of museums/galleries in that municipality. If there is no number, one is understood. For example, in the text two listings would be found under Springfield and one listing under Carbondale.

Aurora University – Schingoethe Center for Native American Cultures

Facilities: Galleries (2; Merwin; Wakeley, 2415 square feet; Wakeley, 459 square feet).

Activities: Temporary Exhibitions

The Merwin and Wakeley Galleries present a schedule of temporary exhibitions that support the curriculum, and benefit the University community and the general public. Exhibitions include historical and contemporary exhibits and the work of visiting artists. Student shows include the Annual Juried Student Exhibition, the Sophomore Exhibition, and the BFA/BA Degree Exhibition.

The University Museum houses over 52,000 objects in the arts, sciences, and humanities.

The art collection consists of 2,500 objects, including European and American paintings, drawings, and prints; 19th- and 20th-century photography; 20th-century sculpture, metals, and Photograph courtesy of University Museum. Champaign Parkland College Art Gallery

Facilities: Gallery.

Activities: Lectures; Temporary Exhibitions (change monthly); Traveling Exhibitions.

The Parkland College Art Gallery offers temporary exhibitions intended to illustrate a wide range of traditional and innovative work, recognized and new talent, proven forms and fresh ones. There are faculty and juried student shows, and invitational watercolor and ceramics shows.
