The 18-hole, par-72 public course at Skybrook opened in 2000. Noted golf course architect John LaFoy is well known for designing North Carolina courses; he paid special attention to the topography and designed the course to take advantage of the mountainous terrain and multiple elevation changes. The championship course incorporates a chipping area, practice bunker, practice green, and a two-tiered range tee with a slight downhill landing to improve accuracy. PGA professional instructors are on staff to offer lessons and skill clinics to golfers of all levels.

Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation runs this 18-hole golf course. The course was designed by John Cassell II and opened in 1996 with two putting greens, a driving range, chipping green, and bent grass greens. There is also a huge clubhouse with a stocked golf shop and a restaurant.
