Discovery Place is a museum for people who hate museums. The exhibits are hands-on and designed to entertain. You can walk through the rainforest, reach out and touch a simulated tornado in Our Living Planet, and get a scoop of liquid nitrogen ice cream in Einstein’s Corner. A combination of permanent and rotating exhibits all focus on science, from life science to space exploration. Big-screen blockbusters and educational films are shown on the largest IMAX screen in the Carolinas. Discovery Place KIDS is a special section of the museum reserved for the smallest scientists. Activities are interactive and aimed at children 1-7 years old. A series of workshops, special events, and learning vacations are also offered through the museum
Before launching his winemaking career, Ryan Carr studied plant science Miami Map and majored in graphic design at the University of Arizona. After college, Carr headed to Santa Miami Map Ynez, determined to build a career in winemaking. One of his first jobs was very hands-on working in the fields for a local vineyard management company. In 1998 he was presented with the opportunity to make wine for Stolpman Vineyards at Central Coast Wine Services. A year later, he produced his first vintage a total of ten cases using grapes from a vineyard where he worked. The success of this initial effort inspired him to establish his own vineyard development company and winery.
