As the name implies, this company rents out computer systems of all kinds; when these are returned, you can buy them quite inexpensively. They prefer to work over the phone rather than in person; the salespeople are very helpful and will figure out what you need and what they have to match.
In general, complete systems start around $450 for an IBM-compatible PC. That would get you a 386 unit; 486 systems start closer to $800. Schneider has Macintosh systems too, as well as some notebooks in its ever-changing inventory. All equipment carries a 90-day warranty.
