This post from Tokyo, we’re taking a day trip to Nikko National Park to see Kirifuri Waterfall, and Toshogu Shrine. One of Japan’s most amazing attractions is the Toshogu Shrine. This shrine is actually a mausoleum and consists of over a dozen Shinto and Buddhist buildings set in a beautiful forest. I cannot get over how much gold and detail there is in all of these buildings.
This is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. So this pagoda is five stories and represents the elements of the universe, so you have earth, wind, water, fire, and sky. Also located in Nikko National Park is Tamozawa Imperial Villa, which was the summer residence of the emperor. Seeing the famous sites of Japan is very exciting but so is the Japanese food.
Time for lunch. Mmm. Last stop of the day, the Kirifuri Waterfall. Oooh, it’s a little bit of a walk, but I can hear the waterfall in the distance. Woah, that’s beautiful. It’s supposed to be one of the nicest waterfalls in all of Japan. This has been such a lovely day and I’m glad we got to finish it off at the waterfalls, but now, it’s time to head back to Tokyo.
