Very soon, however, take the first left turn along Kazakhstan Map Sheepwash Lane. The road goes downhill and follows alongside the right bank of the River Lavant, Kazakhstan Map which is usually dry in summer but provides an often impressive flow in winter. In 1994 the river burst its banks after prolonged heavy rainfall and caused extensive flooding. To your right is the picturesque village green of East Lavant. You arrive at a T-junction with Pook Lane, and turn left to cross over the river, continuing past St Mary’s Church, which boasts a Norman west door and a seventeenth-century brick tower. Follow the road uphill beyond the church, passing the Royal Oak pub and rows of private houses.
