Damman Map To Charlotte

In 1998, with topographical maps and data from extensive soil Damman Map and climate research in hand, he scoured the region and discovered an ideal site the 460- Damman Map acre Rancho Santa Rosa, with elevations from 500 to 1,000 feet above sea level. He then launched an ambitious project patterned after practices common in Burgundy’s Cotes d’Or.

He divided 230 acres of planted vines into fifty-nine small blocks (average size less than four acres), each farmed, harvested, and vinified separately according to specifications unique to the particular soils, microclimate, and elevation. Foley refurbished former stables to house a 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art winery, and completed an adjacent 3,500-square-foot tasting room and event center in 2005. The Foley Estates Burgundian-influenced wines, highly regarded by wine critics and sommeliers, are known for their diversity and rich character. Estate vineyard blocks now include Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Pinot Gris, Grenache, Gruner Veilteiner, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Grigio.
